Art 3 are pleased to present 'Substance & Surface' new paintings by abstract artist Helen Douglas-Cooper

These paintings are inspired by light and colour, memories, places, and by the qualities of paint itself, and draw on a tradition that uses colour, gesture and mark-making in a structural way, from Paul Cezanne to Joan Mitchell and Nicolas de Stael. Based on the act of looking, but without needing to describe specific forms, the paintings glow and buzz with light and colour, while evoking associations with a world of shared familiar experience.

Helen Douglas-Cooper trained and works in London. Her work is in private collections in Britain, Ireland and the USA. shared, familiar experience.
