Art 3 presents Jane Bristowe's fourth 'one person' show at the Wine Gallery since 2000. Jane's latest work continues the development of combining spontaneous use of line and passion for colour in her pastels. Although her subjects are wide-ranging, her most recent pastels stem from her life-long fascination with birds. Jane is artist in residence of the Fulham Symphony Orchestra. She finds that working with musicians at their weekly rehearsals helps her to develop her improvised style as she has to work quickly to capture the moment. In this respect her work is inspired by the Impressionist/Post-Impressionists and Fauvist painters, and in particular Matisse, . with their simple, colourful and immediate response to their subject. Jane sells her work in London through '20th Century Gallery', 821 Fulham Road, and 'Konnigans' restaurant in Wandsworth. She will also be exhibiting at Fulham Town Hall on December 6th, for one evening only, when the Fulham Symphony Orchestra give their concert. |
